hi there.
Welcome. I’m Lindsey, and my passion for tea runs deep—it’s woven into my southern roots. Growing up on our small family farm along Route 636, I developed a profound respect for our planet and all its inhabitants. From people to plants, animals to fungi, each plays a vital role in our ecosystem. This connection to the land and the living things we share it with shaped who I am and how I view sustainability.
For as long as I can remember, my goal has been to make a positive impact in this great big world. Sustainability has always been at the heart of it. I could never get past the idea phase. But I didn’t stop trying. Think Tallahassee from Zombieland—on a mission to find a Twinkie, no matter the challenges. (Also, shout out Woody Harrelson!)
My goal felt just as simple as finding a Twinkie: Make a positive impact for people and the planet. Extra points if I could drink tea while doing it. Tea. I’ve always loved it. For almost twenty years, tea—whether hot or sweet iced tea—has been my only consistent daily ritual.
Tea has become more than just a drink for me—it’s a grounding practice and a form of meditation. Whether I’m steeping leaves, enjoying their aroma, or enjoying the stillness of a quiet moment with a warm cup, tea reminds me to slow down, live intentionally, and reconnect with what matters most. It’s this mindful way of living that I hope to share through Route 636 Tea Co.
And finally, it clicked: as much as I love tea, I’m aware of the environmental toll the industry can take: shipping waste, excessive packaging, plastic tea bags, unsustainable farming, chemical pest control. Not to mention the social costs. Like the exploitation of workers, lack of benefits, and poverty pay. And the legacy of colonialism that continues to influence the tea industry.
Just like that, Route 636 Tea Co. was born. Our mission is simple: To make tea a positive experience for everyone, and every thing, involved. We only offer pesticide-free, ethically sourced tea from small, independent tea farms that practice sustainable farming. We work directly with our partner growers; no middleman. All while using 100% compostable packaging.
No compromises and no excuses. Just great tea that’s good for the planet, the people who grow it, and the people who enjoy it.
